Lawrence Twp. public school officials will discuss the district's strategic plans and solicit public input on how to address future challenges. Residents are also being asked to complete an online survey to help the district's long-range planning process.
Editor's Note: The following was contributed by Lawrence Township Public Schools.
An important part of the Lawrence Township Public Schools’ progress and planning is to inform and collect feedback from the district’s stakeholder who are not only parents of children within the schools but include community members and business owners.
Hear the latest, give input, and get questions answered at the Community Conversation on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Lawrence High School Commons. Register here.
The survey is intended for both parents and Lawrence community members without children in the schools. The BOE appreciates your time and thanks you in advance for your feedback. Dr. Leon Kaplan and Bill Michaelson, BOE members, developed the survey.
During the Community Conversation on Oct. 17, community partners will have displays and be available in the Commons when doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The Conversation will include a brief update on the district’s strategic plan goals followed by breakout sessions that include an informative tour of Lawrence High School, Challenge Chats, and Fiscal Planning.
Challenge Chats will involve topics such as the district’s increasing enrollment.
Fiscal Planning will solicit priorities for 2013-2014 budget planning and will outline considerations. Possibilities include that of the federal government’s withholding some of the district’s No Child Left Behind and IDEA [Individuals with Disabilities Education Act] funds.
