Updated: Ewing Woman Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle on Route 206
The deadly accident, which is under investigation by Lawrence Township police and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office, occurred about 5:45 p.m. Friday on Route 206 (Lawrence Road) near Oaklyn Terrace.

Lawrence Township police today released the name of the woman who was killed when she was hit by a car Friday night on Route 206. She was Marika Okros, 66, of Wilburtha Road, Ewing Township.
Update, 9:15 a.m. Nov. 19:
Lawrence Township police are still withholding the name of the woman who was killed when she was hit by a car Friday night on Route 206 because they are having difficulty contacting her next-of-kin in Hungary, Lt. Mark Ubry said this morning.
The U.S. Department of State and the U.S. embassy in Budapest are trying to help Lawrence police track down the 66-year-old victim's family, he said.
Update, 2:20 p.m. Nov. 17:
The female pedestrian who was killed when she was struck by a car on Route 206 (Lawrence Road) Friday night (Nov. 16) has been identified as a 66-year-old Ewing Township resident, however Lawrence Township police are still withholding her name as they have not yet been able to locate her next-of-kin to notify them, Sgt. Tim Drew said this afternoon.
The accident occurred about 5:45 p.m. Friday on Route 206 in the area of Oaklyn Terrace.
Drew identified the driver of the 2010 Nissan Altima that hit the woman as Anany Levitin, 65, of Lawrence. Levitin was not hurt, he said.
The circumstances of the accident remain under investigation by township police and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office. Police ask any witnesses to the accident to call them at (609) 896-1111.
Original post, 10:15 p.m. Nov. 16:
A female pedestrian was killed this evening (Friday, Nov. 16) when she was struck by a vehicle on Route 206 (Lawrence Road) in the area of Oaklyn Terrace, Lawrence Township police have confirmed.
Sgt. Gary Schenck said the deadly accident was reported to police at 5:47 p.m.
He said the circumstances of the accident remain under investigation, including whether the pedestrian was trying to cross the road at the time or if she was walking alongside it when she was struck.
The identity of the deceased female is being withheld at this time, pending notification of her family, he said.
Similarly, the identity of the vehicle’s driver is not being released, although Schenck revealed that the driver is a man who was not hurt.
Route 206 in the area was closed to traffic for over two hours while authorities investigated and took measurements and photographs at the accident scene.
The investigation is being conducted by township Officer Mark Harmon and Detective Scott Caloiaro, with the assistance of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
