'Origami Yoda' Author Interacts with Lawrence Students
Tom Angleberger, author of the Star Wars character-based "Origami Yoda" book series, recently spent time with students at Lawrence Intermediate School thanks to Skype and the Internet.
Editor's Note: The following news brief was contributed by Lawrence Township Public Schools.
Thirty-six students earned a front row seat at the session by submitting winning entries in a school-based contest: students chose either to make an origami R2D2 or write an essay giving advice as if they were Yoda.
The rest of the school, meanwhile, enjoyed watching the broadcast in their classrooms.
All LIS students had the opportunity to create an Origami Yoda with the author during the session. Karen Rubinstein, LIS Technology and Robotics teacher, coordinated the event.
