Lawrence Twp. Christmas Tree Lighting Held [Video]

Annual event took place at the Lawrence Township Municipal Building on Sunday.

Lawrence Township’s annual Christmas Tree lighting was held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, on the steps of the .

Mayor Greg Puliti welcomed several children onto the front steps of town hall to help him with the lighting, counting down: "Three, two, one, go!"

Puliti also encouraged people to support the donation drive that Junior Troops 70640 and 71071 of the Lawrence Ewing Trenton Area Girl Scouts are running. The scouts are collecting hats, gloves, scarves and mittens that will be passed on to local charities for distribution to the needy. Items can be dropped off this week in the donation box in the lobby of the municipal building.

Once the lights were turned on, the Lawrence High School Madrigal Choir sang several holiday tunes before volunteer firefighters from Slackwood Fire Co. arrived with the night’s special guest, Santa Claus.
