Editor's Note: The following is a news release issued by Lawrence Township.

September is cat license renewal month for Lawrence Township residents. Cat licenses are due by Sept. 30, 2012. Any cat over the age of seven months is required by law to be licensed.

To assist you in this endeavor, the Lawrence Township Health Department will be holding a Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic for all dogs and cats over the age of 3 months:

Date: Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 - 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Location: National Guard Armory, 151 Eggert Crossing Rd.

Clinic will be held rain or shine. Please adhere to the following regulations:

• All pets must be accompanied by an adult
• All pets must be leashed or in suitable carriers
• For safety and insurance purposes no children under 7 years of age
• All visitors are required to stop at the guard checkpoint and provide identification

Volunteers are needed to assist in the registration of pets during rabies clinic. Anyone interested in helping, please contact the Animal Control Officer at (609) 844-7092.

Cat licenses are renewed in the Municipal Clerk’s office. Proof of current rabies certification and proof of spaying or neutering (if applicable) must be presented when a license is purchased by mail or in person.

The fee is $11 if spayed or neutered and $14 if not spayed or neutered. Effective Oct. 15 a delinquent fee will be assessed in the amount of $5 plus $1 per month for each month delinquent.
