Early-Morning Fire Destroys Car [Video]

The blaze on Drift Avenue in Lawrence Township was reported about 3:40 a.m. Thursday.

An early-morning fire destroyed a car parked in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Lawrence Township today, Thursday, March 21.

Police said the blaze was reported about 3:40 a.m. after it was spotted by a passing newspaper deliveryman.

The front of the vehicle was engulfed in flames when police officers and volunteer firefighters arrived on the scene.

The blaze was extinguished by crews from the Lawrenceville, Lawrence Road and Slackwood volunteer fire companies.

There was no damage sustained to the nearby residence.

The cause of the fire was being investigated by officials from the township fire marshal's office.
