Caring Kids Applauded at County Counselors’ Breakfast

Erika Diefenbach of Lawrence Intermediate School and Ariel Drossman of Lawrence Middle School were among the students honored recently at the 26th annual Caring Awards Breakfast, hosted by the Mercer County Professional Counselors Association.

Mercer County middle school students were recognized at the 26th annual Caring Awards Breakfast, hosted by the Mercer County Professional Counselors Association (MCPCA) recently at .

Members of MCPCA, counselors at local middle schools, shared the deeds of kindness, respect and service to others completed by students being recognized at this early morning breakfast ceremony.

Students in attendance at the breakfast were selected to serve as “ambassadors,” representing the many caring children from their respective middle schools. 

Some of the caring deeds that students were selected for include teaching Sunday school, volunteering as a Big Sister, and organizing care packages to ship to soldiers.  Other outstanding volunteer assignments include running a Daisy troop for the Girl Scouts, helping with Special Olympics, serving as the Friendship Club coordinator, and logging 900 hours of community service!
